He added:

Acquiring John Matthews and Co is a significant move for us but we’re not targeting aggressive expansion. We would certainly hope for more growth in 2013 – but it’s more likely to be organic.

Harrogate Round Table are back again for their 41st successive year as organisers of the 2012 Charity Bonfire and this year is shaping up to be the best yet!

Being one of the few remaining bonfire events where an entry fee is not charged, Harrogate Round Table are reliant on the generosity of the public on the evening to donate as much as they can afford to this years supported charity which is Saint Michael’s Hospice.

This years’ community service chairman Alan Fisher said:

“With over 11,000 people expected (weather permitting), this is by far the biggest single FREE public gathering of the year in Harrogate. No Round Table volunteers get paid for any of the hard work that goes into planning this event, building the bonfire or clearing up so the public can be assured that ALL the money they donate is going to a very worthy cause.  Without those donations, this sensational FREE event would sadly not happen.

This is our 41st year of organising this event, we always try to ensure a great warm family feel where everyone can watch the display in safety. You sense a real community spirit and it’s great to see so many families enjoying the event”

This year the event timings are:

Saturday 3rd November

• 6.00pm – Stray FM buildup
• 6.30pm – Bonfire lit
• 7.15pm – Fireworks

Directions & Parking.

The bonfire is held on the grassy area known as the Stray directly to the south of the Empress pub which is HG1 4SP – click here to see in google maps. There is limited parking in the immediate vicinity so the area is likely to be highly congested.

If you want to avoid being sat in lengthy queues, we strongly recommend leaving your vehicle in the town centre (free parking after 6pm) and walking from there which is only around 15 mins, or take public transport where possible. Why not make an evening of it by having a bite to eat in one of the many local award winning restaurants?

PARKING ON THE GRASS AREAS OF THE STRAY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

CCF Accountancy has welcomed Jackie Dowker to the team, on South Park Road, and owner Teresa Bowe says she has further expansion plans later in 2012.

“Jackie joins us from another local practice and her experience is already proving invaluable,” said Teresa. “CCF is going through an intensive period of growth at the moment – we have doubled our turnover in the past year and taken on a lot of new clients, so it’s vital we have someone of her calibre on board.

“If business continues to expand as planned we expect to be making further appointments later on in the year, which is very exciting.”

With a Liverpool office run by Martin Denison and consultant Roy Lancaster looking after business in West Yorkshire, Jackie’s appointment takes the CCF team – which was three-strong in January – up to six.

“We’re growing rapidly but are still committed to our ethos of ‘Customers Come First’ – it’s what we stand for, literally,” said Teresa.

“The main investment has been blood, sweat and tears – and, as you’d expect from an accountant, every move has been planned strategically with careful forecasting and financial management.”
