The Harrogate branch of Woolworths was one of the last to shut out of the 807 UK stores. Around 27000 people have lost their jobs after the company which had been going for 99 years went into administration. And without a buyer being found in time there was no hope in saving the chain.

Is the demise of Woolworths due to the economic climate or has it been on the horizon for some years due to ill conceived pricing structures.?What ever the reason it is never good to see so many people put out of work.
